PURPOSE: To provide a drive circuit reducing reactive power when panel capacity is charged/discharged, saving the power consumption and realizing it with a less number of parts when a plasma display panel is driven. CONSTITUTION: This circuit is provided with a charge/discharge circuit part 2 connected to a capacity between scan/maintenance electrodes (panel capacity) CP of the plasma display panel 1 in parallel and combining a coil 8, FET switches 12, 13 and opposite current preventing diodes 10, 11 and a voltage clamping part 3 provided with four pieces of switches 4-7 connected to both ends of the panel capacity CP. A parallel resonance circuit is formed by the panel capacity CP and a series circuit of the coil 8 and the switches 12, 13, and by controlling respective switches 4-7 and 12, 13 with switch drive inputs IN1-IN6, the charge/discharge of the panel capacity CP is repeated.
