PURPOSE: To provide a function retrieval and execution device with which a user can easily and speedily select and execute a desired function without trouble for storing an operating method to execute the desired function. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with an internal dictionary 106 holding keywords on functions, single or plural function candidate names on the respective keywords and entry points on programs for executing the functions expressed by the respective function candidate names while making them correspond to each other. Besides, this device is equipped with an input means 101 for the user to input the keyword on the function, a temporary storage means 105 for storing that keyword, and a retrieving means 103 for retrieving that keyword inside the internal dictionary 106. Further, the device is provided with a display means 104 for displaying that keyword or the function candidate name, a selecting means for the user to select any specified function candidate name out of those function candidate names, and a control means 102 for moving the control to the entry point to execute the function expressed by that function candidate name. |
