PURPOSE: To automatically and smoothly start copying just by placing a document by confirming the existence of the document on a document table by a document detecting sensor and starting copying operation. CONSTITUTION: The document sensor 20a for detecting the existence of the document on the document table 20 is provided adjacently to a reflector, and directly participates an automatic copying starting function by recognizing the original. Two sensors 20a are provided as the parts of a 1st carriage 30 at the lower part of the document table 20 by opening an ADF(automatic feeder) 100, and the carriage 30 having the sensors 20a is moved to a position being about 30mm from a document table end 20b so as to confirm the existence of the document. A control means confirms the existence of the document on the document table and starts the copying operation, thereby, a document image is formed on paper by an image forming means. Therefore, troublesome action that an operator has to depress a start switch after placing the document is eliminated. |
