FIELD: communications. SUBSTANCE: transmitter 2 sends signals to receiver 6 through channel 4. Only part of signal samples is sent in series of transmitted samples of signal. In addition several characteristic parameter in series of signal samples are detected in detector by characteristic value units 12. They are sent to receiver. Said characteristic parameters are used by receiver 6 for restore of missed signal samples. This is achieved by setting missed samples of signals to values that provide best possible value of characteristic parameters for series of signal samples. If periodic signals are detected which period is greater than duration of series of signal samples, then signal samples are restored with greater interpolation error. By this reason the period is detected in transmitter 2, is sent through channel 4 to receiver 6 and value of said periodic signal is set in receiver 6 by unit 18 which sets period in restored series of signal samples. This results in possibility to decrease interpolation error. EFFECT: increased precision. 1 dwg
