FIELD: electrical engineering; method and device for pulse charging and discharging of storage batteries. SUBSTANCE: method provides for charging storage battery from other battery and rectified current source where asymmetrical current is fed through both batteries to intensify process. device has two storage batteries and bridge rectifier-shaper of asymmetrical current. Battery to be charged is connected to output, and charging battery, to input of bridge in series with AC current source. Battery charging and discharging device forms two asymmetrical currents, discharging pulses of battery being charged by one of currents serve as charging pulses in the other current providing forced transmission of energy into battery to be charged.
