FIELD: agriculture; may be used for growing and transplanting seedlings of vegetables; two-stage method is widely used on personal plots with the aim of growing early vegetables on open soil. SUBSTANCE: first stage - growing seedlings in greenhouses, hotbeds and living rooms; the second stage - transplantation of seedlings in open soil when it becomes warm. But it does not considerably accelerates ripening of vegetables as at transportation the vegetable root system gets harmed and transferred into another agromicrobiological medium. As a result of harm of the root system and its adaptation in the new medium, the plant gets sick. Its development stops for a considerable period of time. Transplantation of seedlings in a two-stage age accelerates ripening on the average by 8 days as compared with fruits obtained from seeds implanted in soil simultaneously with seedlings. The use of peat humus pots for growing seedlings did not find a wide spreading for a number of reasons. The main of them consists in the fact that these pots are intended for a single use, which results in a considerable rising of price. The offered device for growing and transplanting seedlings provides for its multiple use. It can serve for dozens of years. The device has a hollow detachable housing and a removable bottom; it is furnished with ducts preventing water-logging of the culture medium and providing a constant access of air to roots and it creates better conditions for plant development. The device provides for growing seedlings in it up to a three-month age and longer; it guards seedlings against mole cricket, accelerates ripening of many vegetables grown on open soil in regions with a warm climate by 1.5 to 2 months; provides for yearly ripening of some vegetables in regions with an unstable summer, provides for ripening of a number of vegetables in northern regions where summer is hot but short.
