In an item of workshop furniture 1 having a plurality of workstations 7, 8, which are separated by partitions 6, the workstations 7, 8 are fitted around a column 6 in such a way that the base area of each workstation 7, 8 on each of two sides is defined by one of the walls 6, the sides forming an angle with an apex in the column 2. This affords the facility for leading cables, pipes and hoses in the column 2 to provide connection points 12, 13 at all the workstations 7, 8. This provides great flexibility in creating or modifying multiple screened-off workstations 7, 8 each requiring multiple installations, it being merely necessary to set up or move one item of workshop furniture 1 in order to establish or move five workstations 7, 8, for example. The angular space together occupied by the workstations 7, 8 may be selected according to circumstances. It may therefore be 360 degrees, if the column 2 is free- standing, 180 degrees if the column 2 is fitted up against a wall; and 90 degrees if the column 2 is fitted in a right-angled corner. Over the workstations 7, 8, an extraction hood 4, through which all workstations 7, 8 of the furniture 1 can share a common extraction facility, may be fitted concentrically with the column 2. <IMAGE>
