PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display device which averts the degradation in an opening rate of the case a black matrix is formed on a color filter substrate and the influence of complication of a production process, etc., of the case the black matrix is formed on a TFT substrate and a process for producing this device. CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive resin 27 is applied by a spinner on the rear surface of the TFT substrate 3. In succession, this resin is irradiated with UV light from the upper part of the TFT substrate 3 and transistors 5 and storage capacitors 6 are used as a mask, by which the transmittance of the photosensitive resin 27 in the pixel parts 25 is improved (photosensitized) in a self- alignment method. The process for production of the liquid crystal display device is simplified according to such liquid crystal display device and the process for production; in addition, the need for the margin parts for alignment of photolithography for the purpose of the self-alignment system is eliminated and the opening rate is improved. |
