PURPOSE: To provide a sealing rubber having satisfactory heat resistance property and moldability for mass production, by stacking a film with a predetermined thickness made of plastics which has a softening temperature not lower than a predetermined level and high gas barrier property and does not corrode aluminum, and a rubber which has a continuous use temperature not lower than a predetermined level and does not corrode aluminum. CONSTITUTION: For a rubber portion of a sealing rubber, a rubber which does not corrode aluminum and has a continuous use temperature not lower than 100 deg.C is selected and used as a base, to which a compounding agent is added and kneaded. Plastics which does not corrode aluminum and has a softening temperature not lower than 160 deg.C and gas barrier property five times that of butyl rubber is selected and molded into a film of 1-200μm. To manufacture the sealing rubber, a kneaded rubber 7 is first fed under pressures into a columnar metal mold 8. Then, a plastic film 2 is fed between two columnar metal molds 8, and the rubber 7 is cross-linked by a cross-linking metal mold 10. Thus, a sealing rubber having satisfactory heat resistance property and gas barrier property is provided.
