PURPOSE: To provide the data communication system for communication terminal using a mobile communication equipment where a system itself is inexpensively constituted by enabling a communication terminal for general telephone line to communicate data with the mobile communication equipment with the same procedures as transmission through a general telephone line and automatically adding a toll number in the case of a lack of the toll number. CONSTITUTION: When a DTMF signal or a dial pulse signal is sent from a personal computer with a MODEM, a DTMF decoder 8 or a voltage detector 7 decodes it to send the telephone number to a control circuit 11. If a toll number is not added, the toll number is added by the control circuit 11 to originate a call. When it is detected that the call is originated by the DTMF signal or the dial pulse signal, an f characteristic switching circuit 6 is switched, and the high-band characteristic is raised more than that for voice to keep the quality of data transmission. When the line is connected, data communication is started, and it is cleared by on-hook information on the personal computer side.
