PURPOSE: To provide a camera capable of predicting a shadowing state with the irradiation direction and intensity of sunlight, before photographing and automatically setting photographing conditions in accordance with the result of the prediction, in a camera provided with a stroboscope control function. CONSTITUTION: The shadow 128 of a black index 127 formed on a glass window 126 is made on an image pickup element 125 under the window 126 and the position and density of the shadow 128 are changed by the irradiation direction of the sunlight and weather. The output of an image pickup circuit 129 is calculated by an arithmetic circuit 130, to predict the shadowing state by the irradiation direction, intensity, etc., of the sunlight and a stroboscopic circuit 122 is operated according to the result of the prediction, so that the photographing conditions are controlled not to make the shadow on an object. The light emission conditions of an Xe tube 123 are changed by the output of a photometry element 114 and a range-finding element 117d and the parameter of film sensitivity, etc. |
