<p>PURPOSE: To control the value of exciting current fed to an alternator through a simple constitution depending on the object to be switched when the output power from the generator is converted into DC power and switched to a battery being charged or an electric load in a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: When the rectified output from an alternator 1A is switched through an output switch 71 to a battery being charged, a voltage regulator 3A detects the terminal voltage of the battery 4 and regulates the exciting current being fed to the field coil 102 of the generator 1A. When the rectified output from the generator 1A is switched to an electric load 5 in a vehicle, the voltage regulator 3A detects the voltage at + terminal 201 of a rectifier 2 and regulates the exciting current being fed to the field coil 102 of the generator 1A.</p> |
