<p>PURPOSE: To eliminate the need to very the transmission rate of an existent CBR(Constant Bit Rate) network, to eliminate the need to repeat compounded encoding even at the time of a mutual connection with an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) transmission line, and to minimize the deterioration of speech quality and signal propagation delay by making only voiced parts of a speech signal cellular and transmitting them. CONSTITUTION: A CLAD part 3009 inputs the output signal S5 of a high- efficiency speech encoding part 200 to a transmission side and is equipped with a voiced/voiceless bit detection part 311, a FAX start data detection part 312, and a cell assembly part 313. The cell assembly part 313 assembles a cell and sends it out to the ATM transmission line through an output terminal 103 only when the voiced/voiceless bit detection part 311 detects a voiced part unless FAX start data S2 is detected from the S5. When the FAX data S2 is detected from the signal S5, on the other hand, the data of the subsequent signal S3 are all assembled into cells, which are outputted to the ATM transmission line through the output terminal 103 irrelevantly to the result of the voice/ voiceless bit detection part 311.</p> |
