PURPOSE: To obtain a power supply controller for interrupting power supply to a sensor in a unit when it is not required to operate the sensor by providing means for controlling power supply to the sensor while detecting and notifying the failure of the sensor. CONSTITUTION: A CPU 31 in a control section 30 is connected through the OUTPUT of I/O with a power supply control 32. Power supply to sensors 3, 10 are interrupted by delivering a High level signal and power is fed to the sensors by delivering a Low level signal. A feeder line to be ON/OFF controlled from the power supply control 32 is connected with a sensor power supply section 33 in order to distribute power supply to a cassette paper sensor 3 and a paper discharge sensor 10. Since power supply to the sensor can be interrupted under stand-by state, significant power saving effect can be expected while allowing failure diagnosis of the sensor. |
