PURPOSE: To provide the image processing method which attains both picture quality improvement by line density conversion and a smoothing process and prevention against picture quality deterioration by the magnification variation of a half-tone image. CONSTITUTION: The image processing method performs the density conversion and smoothes and outputs the respective pixels of a binary image inputted to an image processor by dividing the pixels into M×N pixels (M and N: natural number) of a specific pattern corresponding to the pattern of peripheral pixels; and the respective pixels of the inputted binary image are divided into m×n pixels (m and n: natural integer larger than 2), (m-1)×n pixels, m×(n-1) pixels, or (m-1)×(n-1) pixels of a specific pattern corresponding to the pattern of the peripheral pixels. |
