DC POWER SUPPLY EMPLOYING AC GENERATOR AS POWER SOURCE

PURPOSE: To obtain a power supply for supplying a DC voltage to a battery and a load using an AC generator as a power source in which the output voltage is prevented from increasing upon removal of the battery. CONSTITUTION: The DC power supply comprises a control rectifier circuit 2 including thyristors S11, S12 and rectifiers D11, D12 and feeding the rectified output from an AC generator 1 between output terminals 3a, 3b to be connected with a battery B and a load 5, and a circuit 4 for controlling the thyristors S11, S12 to the voltage between the output terminals at a regulated level. The DC power supply further comprises a protection circuit 6 for interrupting supply of a trigger signal to the thyristors S11, S12 for a predetermined protection time when the voltage between the output terminals exceeds a level being set higher than the regulated level.
