The light fitting (10) has a base (12) fixed to a vertical wall or a ceiling. The lamp has a hollow diffuser (14) of transparent or translucent material. The base has a peripheral wall (30) with a curved outer skirt (34). The domed cover has its edge (44) shaped to fit over the outer skirt of the base.The edge of the cover fits tightly over the outer wall, covering its full height and providing a seal between the two. The interior of the curved edge of the cover can be covered with a fragile paint, such as a water paint, without risk of damage during fitting. One edge of the peripheral wall of the base has a recess that accepts a screw (66). The cover has a moulded recess to accommodate the head of the screw. |
