摘要 PURPOSE: To precisely set the optimal recording light intensity at the time of recording information on an optical disk by providing a pseudo-ATIP generating part and subdividing the variable range of the recording light intensity specified in advance. CONSTITUTION: An optical pickup 2 performs recording/reproduction of information on an optical disk 1 and a peak power control part 9 varies the recording light intensity for recording information on the optical disk 1. The information recorded by varying the recording light intensity is read out by the optical pickup 2, the maximum value and the minimum value of the reproduced signal are detected by means of a peak-hold/bottom-hold part 4 and the degree of symmetry β of the reproduced signal is obtained from the output of the peak- hold/bottom-hold part 4 by means of a β detecting part 5. A pseudo-ATIP sync generating part 12 receives a synchronizing signal obtained based on the real- time information of the reproduced signal from an ATIP detecting part 11 and generates a spurious synchronizing signal. Consequently, the variable range of the recording light intensity is subdivided and the optimal recording light intensity of high accuracy is set.
