摘要 PURPOSE: To secure stable printing quality over a long term and to improve the reliability of an entire device by providing a developing roller shielding mechanism on the electrifier side of a developing roller. CONSTITUTION: When the entire device is set in a working state, operation for supplying toner to the developing roller 3 is started at the same time. In such a case, a toner layer thickness regulating blade 4 is allowed to press- contact with the developing roller 3 and the thickness of a toner layer is regulated by the regulating blade 4. Suspended toner is produced when operation for regulating the layer thickness is performed by the regulating blade 4 and when the developing roller 3 comes in contact with a photoreceptor drum 1, that is, at the time of developing. Then, the developing roller shielding mechanism 10 on a partition plate is provided on the electrifier 2 side of the developing roller 3. A situation that the suspended toner is scattered to the electrifier 2 side by the rotation of the developing roller 3 is effectively suppressed by the shielding mechanism 10 with its shape to shield space.
