The tool for setting in place protection sleeves for rotary knuckle-joints is comprised of a unique cone (1) whose base may be enlarged according to the needs by means of a series of truncated rings (2, 3, 4) mounted on said cone and of which the sizes correspond to the diameter of the smallest knuckle-joint to be fitted with a protection sleeve. It applies to the industrial sector of the fabrication of equipments for workshops for repairing and maintaining motor vehicles and is particularly, but not exclusively, intended to facilitate the mouting of "bellows" protecting the transmission Hooke's joints of motor vehicles.
