The projector (5) consists of one or more elongated radiation sources (6) esp. of quartz-glass halogen type backed by a reflecting surface (10) and radiating through a substantially plane or slightly convex transparent front face (2). The edge (4) of the front face are straight and the transparent material extends to them. The rearward support (9) for the reflecting surface is combined with the front face in one sealed unit and may be mfd. from the same material in one piece of tubular form.
