PURPOSE: To surely realize the discharge by using the conductive member held in contact with a photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION: Difining the aimed electrification potential as Vs, the photreceptor charge shift starting voltage by the conductive member as Vk and the photoreceptor potential rise by the transfer device output as Vt, the potential Vs is stipulated so as to satisfy the next inequality, Vs+Vt>Vk. Difining the petential by electrification as VL, the bias voltage VQ is stipulated so as to satisfy the next inequality, (VL+Vt-VQ)>Vk. The output of the transfer device is turned on, and the position on the photoreceptor opposing the transfer device at the time is moved to the position opposite to the electrification device and held in stand-by state, and then the output of the electrification device is turned on and the image forming is started. Time between completing the image forming and stopping the phtoreceptor thereafter, the full surface of the photoreceptor is irradiated with the light beam with use of the photoirradiation means. |
