PURPOSE: To provide an image pickup device in which the stereoscopic image of an object is obtd. with simple and small sized configuration by using a single optical image forming means. CONSTITUTION: The image pickup device is provided with an optical image forming means 1 using a concave mirror 5, a CCD image sensor 2 receiving the optical image of an object W via the mirror, a focus control means 11 to change the curvature of the concave mirror 5 to shift a focal point P in the case of image pickup, and a distance detection means 14 finding out the focal point P maximizing or minimizing the luminance of the image of each part of the object W detected by each pixel of the CCD image sensor 2 every pixel and obtaining a distance D of each part of the object W whose image is formed on each pixel from the focal point, and the stereoscopic image of the object W is generated based on the obtained distance D of each part of the object W. |
