PURPOSE: To automatically count the time for the speech of a prepared speech manuscript. CONSTITUTION: This speech manuscript preparation supporting system is provided with a document preparing device 10, speech speed controller 20 and portable document display device 30. The document preparing device 10 is provided with a document preparation storage part 12 and a display device 13. The speech speed controller 20 is provided with a timer 21 for measuring the lapse of time, reading time dictionary 22 previously registering standard sounding time required for reading plural words, reading time calculating means 23 for calculating and storing the reading time required for reading the words extracted from the document preparation storage part 12 while referring to the reading time dictionary 22, and time display control means 24 for displaying the lapse of time measured by the timer 21 on the display device 13. A document display control means 25 instructs the positions of extracted words on the display device 13 corresponding to the reading time calculated by the reading time calculating means. A time limit input means 26 inputs the time limit of speech. |
