PURPOSE: To provide a paper feeder having proper correspondence for a fault occurred in one of plural paper feed sections in the image reception mode or in the copy mode. CONSTITUTION: When defective paper feed takes place in the paper feeding from a commanded paper feed section in the paper feeder having plural paper feed sections, whether the paper feed operation is a copy operation or a reception operation is discriminated. In the case of copying, the paper feed operation is stopped to display an error and in the case of the reception, paper feed operation is made from other paper feed section. |
