PURPOSE: To provide a system where no memory deficiency is caused by changing a macro capacity to be registered in an image forming device in response to a generated display list. CONSTITUTION: An image forming device 17 receives a memory inquiry signal from a host computer HCP 31 and extracts an idle memory capacity from a memory C24 and a macro number and its content to be registered from a memory D25 and sends them to the HCP 31. The HCP 31 compares the display list capacity of print data with the idle memory capacity received from the device 17. Then the display list is received from the HCP 31 and stored in a memory B23, and page data whose image is formed are expanded and stored in a memory F27. When a vertical synchronizing signal is set, an image expansion means 18 extracts the page data from the memory F27 and gives the data to an image forming means 30. |
