<p>A process for the metallization of a phosphor screen which process comprises the steps of: i) applying to a phosphor screen a coating of an aqueous dispersion of a poly(hydroxyalkanoate) and allowing the screen to dry; ii) optionally heating the coated screen to form a coherent polymeric coating; iii) depositing a layer of metal upon the coated screen to form a composite; and iv) heating the composite to a temperature above the decomposition temperature of the poly(hydroxyalkanoate) in order to decompose and/or volatilise the film coating.</p> |
