<p>The inlet (53) of a coke chute (50) is pushed upwards by a plurality of actuators (40) until it encompasses the bottom outlet (15) of a coking vessel (10). The inlet (53) is preferably surrounded by a skirt (52) which tapers inwardly from top to bottom, and the entire chute (50) is preferably retractable below the level of the floor (30) underneath the coking vessel (10). A plurality of locks (60) can be used to secure the skirt (52) to the lower portion of the vessel (10).</p> |
