The present invention relates to a hand guide (1) arranged to control a switching device via a control tube (7) attached to the switching device at one end, said control tube being attached to the hand guide at the other end, the rotational motion of the control tube being thus produced by means of a control arm (5) provided in the hand guide (1). Today, manual control of a switching device located at a pole is implemented for instance by means of a rotational crank provided at the end of a control tube. Such a crank is, however, visible at all times and thus easily invites vandals. In the hand guide (1) of the invention, unauthorized control of the switching device is prevented in such a manner that the crank, i.e. the control arm (5), provided in the hand guide can be inserted into the centre and into the control tube (7), where it can be locked.
