An injection compression molding method and an apparatus therefor capable of obtaining a multilayer molded product of a high strength by a simple structure rapidly and with a high accuracy. A molding method for attaining such characteristics includes the steps of extending an injected molten resin (51) by compressing the same in metal molds (31, 32), opening the metal molds during or after the execution operation, injecting a surface layer material (60) into a gap .delta. occurring between the metal molds (31, 32) and resin (51) when the molds are opened, closing the metal molds during or after the injection of the surface layer material, and cooling the resin (51) and surface layer material (60) in the closed metal molds (31, 32).
