TRANSGENIC PLANTS WITH IMPROVED BIOMASS PRODUCTION

Transgenic plant cells are disclosed in which the introduction and expression of particular DNA molecules results in the formation of easily mobilised phosphate pools outside the vacuole. Transgenic plants with cells of this type show an enhanced biomass production and/or altered flowering behaviour. Processes are also disclosed by which the plant yields can be improved and/or plant flowering behaviour modified.
