<p>An air-cleaning filter made by supporting at least one member selected from the group consisting of: (a) an alkaline agent selected from alkali metal hydroxides and carbonates; (b) an acidifying agent selected between aluminium hydrogenphosphate and phosphoric acid; and (c) an oxidizing agent comprising an alkali iodate and active manganese dioxide formed from an alkali permanganate, a combination of components (a) and (c), or a combination of components (b) and (c) on a carrier comprising a web of activated carbon fibers, and covering integrally one or both sides of the resulting assembly with nonwoven fabric.</p> |
