<p>An optical housing for mounting an optical element is described comprising a body (1) fitted with two integral flange plates at one end and an integral screw threaded boss (2) at the other end by means of which the housing is securely mounted to a high speed rotatable shaft. The two plates (3) are spaced from each other such that they accommodate a pentaprism (5). Each plate (3) has a drilled hole (4) enabling an adhesive to be injected through these holes to fill the space between the pentaprism (5) located between the flange plates (3) and the inner surfaces of the flange plates. Any turning movement created by high speed rotation of the optical element about a defined axis normal to an optical face is resisted by the flexible members of the optical housing.</p> |
