In an arrangement for sealing off a drilled hole, a plug (10) has a sleeve (14) with an external thread (34), a disc-shaped foot (16), a flow passage (20,22) by means of which a liquid can be injected through the sleeve and foot, and a jacket (26) which can be expanded radially outwards by the application of pressure to one end so that it presses tightly against the inner wall (54) of the hole (12). The sleeve can be screwed into a tool (40) which is used to place it in the hole. The tool is located movably inside a support part (50) which can be pressed against the end of the jacket (26). A profiled component (32) is located between the support part and the end of the jacket, and is capable of locking itself in position by wedge action against the sleeve when pressure is applied by the support part.
