<p>A road intersection comprises a main road (1,2) having at least two traffic lanes (6,7,8,13,14) in each direction, and a secondary road (3,4) having at least one traffic lane (13 to 17) in each direction intersection the main road. There is provided a traffic island (5) in the intersection extending parallel to and disposed between the inside lanes (6) of the main road so as to block the lanes of the secondary road. A pair of opposed detour roads (10,11,12) is disposed on either side of the intersection, and each detour road is located vertically above or blow the main road (1,2) in a manner such that the land space occupied by each detour road is substantially within the boundaries of the land space occupied by the main road. <IMAGE></p> |
