In a process for burning scrap plastic the plastic () is milled and blown into a combustion chamber (2) while a gaseous fuel (G) and an air flow (L) for combustion are fed in through a separate tube (3). The air for combustion (L) is charged with coal dust. Use - For disposal of plastic scrap. Advantage - Scrap plastic in pure or mixed form may be burned in existing firing plant without expensive modification to the latter and gives a high energy output.
