The cartridge, for a recoilless barrel, has a primary combustion zone (14) for the propellant, an inner detonator (10) and at least one blocking plate (4) of a propellant powder round the propellant. The cartridge is fitted with a projectile (11). The cartridge case (2) is of wound nitrocellulose. The blocking plate (4) is a single-base porous nitrocellulose block. At least an inner blocking plate (4) and/or the propellant powder in the secondary combustion zone (12) and/or the projectile holder (18) can be of propellant powder elements with a nitramine base.
