Disc filter

Disc filter includes a trough (1) for a liquid to be filtered and at least one filter disc (2) mounted on a shaft (3) being rotatable in a definite direction. Each filter disc is composed of filter sectors (4'). Each sector (4') is in fluid communicaton with a channel extending along the shaft for withdrawal of filtrate from the filter sector (4'). Each filter sector has straight defining leading and trailing edges (11,12) extending in non-radial directions. The level (L) of the liquid to be filtered is located above the rotational axis of the shaft (3). The leading edge (11) and trailing edge (12) of each filter sector (4') are directed such that these edges are parallel with the level (L) of the liquid at the time they are submerged under the surface of the liquid.
