The testing system has the transmission and reception circuits of the transceiver set to a common transmission and reception frequency, with the HF transmission signal received at the output of the transmission circuit fed to the input of the reception circuit. Pref. the reception signal is evaluated from determining the bit error rate by comparison with the transmission signal and the signal to noise ratio is determined from the frequency and/or phase error of the reception signal.
