Screening wire connection for MV cable coupling cuff

The screening wire connection uses a pair of Cu wire meshes (7, 7a) embedded in the field control elements (6) at the opposite ends of the cable cuff. The free ends of the meshes project from the respective cable ends and are bent back over the insulating hollow cylindrical, cable cuff body (1) so that they overlap in a contact zone (X) at its centre.The stripped cable ends (3, 3a) are inserted in the field control elements, so that the cable outer screening (5) of each cable is contacted by the respective mesh. Pref. each cable outer screening cooperates with a contact plate (11) secured to the cable end.
