The invention relates to an assembly for use as a vehicle carrying deck structure made from aluminium for vehicle carriers. The deck plate of the vehicle carrying deck is comprised of deck beams (1) incorporating a bottom and a top plate (3, 2), having a shell structure and having been attached to each other in parallel, whereby the deck beams are joined to each other at the edges formed by the ends of said deck beams (1). The invention is based on adapting in the longitudinal joint between two deck beams (1) such a continuous jointing section (5) that is capable of distributing the stress imposed on the joint over a larger area. The jointing section (5) comprises a main web (7) attached at its upper part to the top plate (2) of said deck beams (1), and support flanges (11) projecting in the direction of said deck beams (1) from said main web (7) and extending under the bottom plates (3) of said deck beams. <IMAGE>
