The roof has a frame with a pivotable main roof arch with front and rear side frame sections and a roof material tensioning arch. The frame is connected to the vehicle body by mountings for the roof main bearings which are attached on both sides of the body. At least one crimped sidewall of the main bearing mounting is arranged to correspond with a stepped section of the body panel. A positioning device surrounds a positioning element which is positioned between the mounting crimp and the stepped section of the body panel.
