<p>The radiation cell consists of a shielded chamber (1,2,3) with one or more sealed access door(s) (4) and contg. a central well (26) in its floor for dry storage of a radiation source (27), a lifting mechanism (31-33) for raising the radiation source into its radiation position and lowering it again for storage, a circuit for producing ozone by radiolysis of an oxygen current, linked to the well, and a carousel conveyor (6) which supports the products to be sterilised in nacelles (7). The nacelles are connected to the ozone flow as the conveyor is rotated by a chain and sprocket mechanism.</p> |
