A method of producing a polyolefinic film by a water quench process

The tendency of some polyolefinic films, particularly films of polypropylene containing hindered amine UV stabilisers, to carry over water from a water quench bath is reduced almost to the point of elimination by introducing up to 12 parts per million of a hypochlorite ion or a hypobromite ion into the water of the water quench bath.
