Screen drum (1) for use as sorting element of pulp suspensions in the paper and cellulose industry is equipped with apertures which are arranged at the bottom of grooves. The direction of the grooves is different from the direction of flow, e.g. across to it. If the suspension moves in a circular direction as shown by arrow B, the grooves are axial.
