PURPOSE: To provide a pneumatic radial tire capable of reducing the passing noise when a vehicle is traveling, especially and preferably employed in a four- wheel drive vehicle, without damaging the traveling performance on a snowy road, etc. CONSTITUTION: A pneumatic radial tire is provided with a carcass 6 of the organic fiber cord consisting of two or more carcass plies 6A, 6B, and a belt layer 7 of the steel cord consisting of inner and outer belt plies 7A, 7B, and a first damping rubber layer 9 interposed between the first carcass ply 6A on the outermost side and the second carcass ply 6B on the inner side and a second damping rubber layer 10 interposed between the first carcass ply 6A and the inner belt ply 7A are provided. In the first and second damping rubber layers 9, 10, the width W1, W2 of the rubber layers is 0.8-12 times the ply width WB of the inner belt ply, and the thickness T1, T2 is 0.5-2.0mm. |
