<p>PURPOSE: To increase the safety in weft insertion by smoothening the wall surfaces of the guide holes of individual reeds forming the weft-guiding path and the reed side wall surfaces with which the warp contact to reduce the air flow resistance. CONSTITUTION: A yarn-guiding hole surrounded with a horizontal upper wall surface 6-1, a vertical inner wall surface 6-2 and the lower wall surface 6-3 are cut each on a plurality of stainless steel reeds having a modified shape and the sequence of this guide hole forms the weft-guiding path 3-1. While the loom is operated, fine particles such as steel beads, glass beads or ceramic beads having a hardness equal to or higher than that of stainless steel are air-jetted at a high speed to the wall surfaces 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 for the weft guide and side wall surface for the warp to form finely uneven faces comprising shot-peenings whereby the air resistance is reduced.</p> |
