PURPOSE: To perform stable conveyance of a paper sheet by a method wherein the curvature of radius in the direction of the width of a paper sheet of a guide means arranged outside a bent conveyance passage and guiding conveyance of the paper sheet is differed from that the other end. CONSTITUTION: The outer guide rib (a guide means) 2a on the conveyance side (the reference surface 10 side) has a radius higher than the radius of a conveyance roller 1. An outer guide rib 2b on the non-conveyance side has the same radius as that of the conveyance roller 1 at the bent conveyance part 9 of a turn-over part. A paper sheet 7 is advanced in a rolled state along the conveyance roller 1 between inner and outer guide ribs 3a and 2a. In this case, the paper sheet 7 on the non-conveyance side is guided between the inner guide rib 3b and the outer guide rib in such a state to make contact with the outer guide rib 2b having the same radius as that of the conveyance roller 1 and advanced at the same speed as that of the paper sheet 7 on the conveyance side. This constitution stably conveys the paper sheet 7.
