<p>PURPOSE: To effectively prevent the floation of granaular sludge, in a case treating org. waste water anaerobically by passing the same through a sludge blanket formed from granaular sludge upwardly, by adding a calcium compd. or an iron salt to org. waste water. CONSTITUTION: In a method for treating org. waste water anaerobically by passing the same through a sludge blanket (sludge bed) formed from granular sludge (granulated sludge) upwardly, a calcium compd. or an iron salt is added to org. waste water. By this method, CaCO3 or FeS is formed in gaps of granaular sludge to suppress the floatation of granular sludge. As a calcium compd., CaCl2 or Ca(OH)2 is pref. used and the addition amt. thereof is set to about 0.5-5wt.% in terms of Ca with respect to the CODcr concn. of raw water from the relation with the amt. of propagating bacterial cells. As the iron salt, FeCl3 or FeSO4 is pref. used.</p> |
