PURPOSE: To prevent a washing machine from lowering the performance after the start of hot water supply by detecting the temperature of the hot water supplied into a washing chamber and operating a drainage pump while the water temperature is low, so as to ensure that sufficiently hot water is stored in the washing chamber. CONSTITUTION: When a control unit opens a supply valve 16, firstly, the water remaining in a pipe 17 and then hot water from a hot water supplier 18 are introduced into a washing chamber 3 through a water inlet 15. Then, when a delay timer times out, the temperature of the hot water stored in the washing chamber 3 is detected by a temperature sensor 22. If it is determined that the water supply is for a washing process or a final rinse process, the control unit 25 sets a normal temperature TL, for example, at 55 deg.C, and if it is determined that the water supply if for an intermediate rinse process, the control unit 23 sets a normal temperature TL, for example at 35 deg.C. The unit 25 then compares the detected water temperature T with the normal temperature TL. If T<TL, the control unit 23 intermittently drives a drain pump 13, that is, drives the pump 13 at a draining rate lower than the normal rate. |
